Two random ideas:
1. New Girls (ok, probably moms really) Hangout - Grocery Store. Before you judge, read me out...I've never gone grocery shopping with a girl friend, but think of it - think of how your two households do many things differently, especially what you're eating. She has her list, you have yours. Maybe you introduce her to Feta cheese and what you do with it (fantastic on scrambled eggs) and maybe she educates you on the many ways to eat a cucumber (I for one can't imagine any good ones).
2. Funeral Planning Dinner. Yep, that is what I meant to write. Funeral. Planning. Dinner. Who wants to talk about their demise? How many of us have wills that are outdated now that we have more children, different assets, etc. Or how many of us have no will prepared at all?
Picture this: You have 3 or 4 couples over for dinner along w/an invited attorney that specializes in wills. You have a nice dinner, chat about the looming cloud of why you're there, share your anxieties, your coping mechanisms and, inevitably (if you've invited the right friends) a few laughs. The attorney sits in a comfortable room/office and each couple has their time one on one, in private with the attorney, while the others continue conversing, socializing and making a dreaded task much more bearable. You leave the evening with new memories and a will.
I don't know about you, but our lack of a current will weighs on me. Each time Mike & I are in the car together, or planning a trip, etc. I've said time and again "we have to do our will" but that time never seems to come. It'd be nice to have that task off my to-do-list once and for all. And, if it involves food and my friends, all the better. Should probably keep the drinking to a minimum at this dinner.
I some great ideas too, I'll let you know when I remember them.

I love it, Stacey. It sounds like Dave and I are right there with you and Mike regarding our wills. We have such little time together to discuss pleasant things, yet it is looming...let me know when you plan that dinner!
Thanks Marie! I'll definitely let you know when we plan that dinner. I'm afraid it's the only way we'll get it done!
